Celebrate Shower Gel from Lush

Celebrate Shower Gel
Celebrate Shower Gel was (and still is to some extent) one of the rarest, most sought after Lush shower gels ever made. When it was first released it was an exclusive product to Lush Japan. I’m not completely sure of the exact ins and outs but from what I understand, Lush UK didn’t have the rights to make it. With it only being available to buy within Japan the demand for it world wide was through the roof. Unless you could get someone in Japan to ship it to you directly it was near on impossible to get hold of.

Back in 2016 Lush UK released a shower gel as a part of their winter line called Bubbly. It’s not the same as Celebrate shower gel but it does come from the same scent family. As there are so many beautiful Lush scent families to choose from it is impossible for me to pick just the one favourite, anything Celebrate scented is however always a hit with me.

Lush Kitchen reached 3 years young back in March 2017 and to celebrate they brought out Celebrate shower gel as a surprise! It was a dream come true for me and I did not see it coming. For me, it was a sit down and fan yourself type of surprise, Lush is my life, don’t judge me. Just as I had come to terms with the fact that I would probably never get my hands on a bottle, I did! Thank you Lush Kitchen, you rock my world!

As soon as you open the lid of Celebrate shower gel you are greeted with the comforting and refreshing scent of warming cognac, sweet orange and zesty lime. Much like the Bubbly shower gel, Celebrate is a fairly thick formula, to me it feels like more of a cream than a shower gel.

The smallest amount of Celebrate shower gel goes a very long way, this is a great trait to have in a product you love, especially when it is also a very rare product! it lathers up in your hands effortlessly and works even better with a shower pouf or washcloth. As you work it onto your body the scent really hits you. It’s a very delicate citrus fragrance that I can never, ever get enough of.

My skin adores it, as does my nose. Using Celebrate shower gel is great anytime of day but I love to use it of an evening after a long, hard day. It not only lifts my mood but also eases me into a relaxed state of mind, helping me wind down for bed time. Its scent reminds me of happy times. The first time I experienced the Celebrate scent was when I used a Golden Wonder bath bomb, I fell in love with it within seconds of using it and have been desperate to try every Celebrate scented product since.

I am curious as to whether Celebrate shower gel will be making a return as a part of 2017’s Winter line now that Lush UK have got the okay to make it here. I honestly wouldn’t mind either Celebrate or Bubbly though, they are both very good shower gels that I find work just as good as a shampoo too.  I would however be really upset if neither came back this year.

I can clearly see and smell why the Celebrate shower gel is so sought after and I am so thankful to the Lush Kitchen for pulling so many strings and finally giving us UK Lushies a chance to experience it!

Big Blue Bath Bomb from Lush

Big Blue Bath BombWhen I first started to go into Lush I wasn’t at all familiar with any of the products, I didn’t know anything about their ingredients or their uses. I spent a considerable amount of time examining, asking questions and sniffing all of the products that were on offer but was so overwhelmed that I just ended up jumping in head first.

The Big Blue bath bomb had always caught my eye in the shop, the visible seaweed within it however always made me change my mind at the very last minute, maybe next time I’d pick it up. I’d say to myself but I would always choose another one over it, always.

Quite soon into my Lush journey I started to participate in online Lush forums etc, it was there that I heard about the Big Blue bath bomb, apparently it is great for muscle aches and pains, chronic pain is the story of my life so after that much appreciated advice, I decided to finally pick a Big Blue bath bomb up, seaweed and all.

I am one of those women who are ridiculously squeamish, in the sea I am always the first to scream when something touches my leg. Putting a bath bomb with seaweed in my bath tub was therefore going to be a sensory challenge and a half.

As soon as I put the Big Blue bath bomb into the water its soothing scent filled my bathroom. Curiosity always gets the better of me and I always take the bath bomb out of the water mid-fizz just to have a look.

Upon first use of the Big Blue bath bomb I instantly regretted taking it out of the water. All I could feel was solid, scratchy seaweed, my inner squirm erupted from me and I squealed so loud that my boyfriend (now husband) came running into the bathroom to see if I was okay.

“Yes I’m fine, just scaring myself with my ridiculously overactive imagination…”

Once I convinced myself that it really was JUST seaweed, I put it back into the bath, it was a little strange at first but I did get used to it. The warmth of the water slowly softens the seaweed so it isn’t scratchy and hard for very long. As the seaweed softens the sea salt in the water dissolves too, together both ingredients make the bath water silky smooth, I was surprised at how relaxed I was considering the fuss I’d made only minutes before…

The question that everyone asks is, what happens to the seaweed? At the end of the bath I tried to be clever and catch all of the seaweed the same way as I do the flower petals in the Ylang Song or Rose Bombshell bath bomb, it didn’t work. There were however no blockage problems when it came to pulling the plug. In spite of this I would still advise people thinking of using Big Blue on a continuous basis to try to space the baths out.

Failing that, there is in fact an easy way to solve the danger of a potential seaweed and plug hole problem. Some people place the bath bomb in a stocking before putting it in the bath. This way you still get the benefit of the bath bombs ingredients while also stopping the risk of loose seaweed going down your plug hole.

In regards to Big Blue helping with aching muscles I am sad to say that it is not as good as the Geo Phyzz bath bomb. It is however a good substitute to the very rare Geo Phyzz bath bomb.

Big Blue is well worth a try, I do however always now use it in a stocking, just in case.

I also recommend trying (if you’re using Big Blue in the stocking) using the stocking like a sponge once all of the bath bomb has dissolved. The seaweed in it is fantastically moisturising as well as super soothing for dry skin.

Mother Earth Bath Bomb from Lush

The Mother Earth Bath Bomb is the first of the recent, larger sized seasonal exclusives that I have actually bought. At the Lush Showcase 2016, I demoed the larger versions of Dragon’s Egg and Intergalactic, the Mother of Dragons Egg and Nebula bath bomb.

Although both were fantastic (videos and photos can be found if you scroll through to September 2016 on my Instagram feed) I didn’t really see the point of getting them as they were exactly the same except for their size. Limited edition yes, however, I had a wedding to save for back then so decided against getting them, which I of course regret.

At the Lush Summit 2017, Lush introduced us to yet another giant sized product, the Mother Earth bath bomb. Scent and appearance wise, Mother Earth is just a larger version of the World Piece bath bomb. (A play on the words piece and peace, not a grammatical error!) Unlike the previous larger bath bombs released, Mother Earth is actually slightly different to its smaller version, how it differs remains a secret until it is placed in the water…

After seeing photographs on Instagram of the amazing bath art that the Mother Earth bath bomb creates, I knew I needed to get hold of at least one to use myself. When describing Mother Earth’s scent, the first word that springs to mind is refreshing. Its primary scent is mostly peppermint based, it however has a zingy, citrus fruit element to it, this unique blend of ingredients dampens the peppermint aspect in Mother Earth ever so slightly, although it still has a fantastically refreshing scent, the mint in it isn’t as sharp, making it more gentle on the nose.

At first I wasn’t sure if I liked its blend of unique ingredients, before Lush I’d never experienced anything minty that wasn’t on its own or at a push, mixed with chocolate. I however felt exactly the same when I first tried another minty bath bomb, the Abombinaball, which happens to now be one of my favourite Lush products.

Discovering that mint goes with so much more than just chocolate is another thing I have to thank Lush for.

With the Mother Earth bath bomb being so big it’s a very, very slow fizzer. I didn’t time mine but at a guess I’d say it took just over 20 minutes to fully dissolve. Being a slow burner, Mother Earth gives you more than enough time to appreciate the bath art it creates. The device I use to take photos of bath art actually ran out of power as I couldn’t stop snapping away at all of the beautiful colours and patterns it created.

I haven’t included all of the shots I got as we’d be here all day… What makes Mother Earth different from its smaller version World Piece is that it has a pink middle. This is probably why I fell in love with it so much. If in doubt, just add pink!

The pretty colours; Pink, blue and green that spurt out of this bath bomb more than entertained me, I love a bath bomb that I don’t get bored of half way through, especially one that lasts so very long! No other bath bomb has ever held my attention span quite like this one.

It wasn’t until I got out of the bath that I realised how this product benefited my skin. My skin has never looked or felt better, I’m not sure whether this is down to its huge size, many bath bombs make my skin feel fabulous none however have topped the effects of Mother Earth. This bath bomb has to be one of my favourites from the list of new for 2017 products. The purple bath water it leaves you with is such a beautiful shade, unfortunately Mother Earth was a part of this years (2017) Mothers Day line so isn’t available anymore. I am really upset with myself for not picking up a few more of these while I could!
