Snowie Bubble Bar from Lush

snowie-bubble-bar

Now that winter is in full swing I have to pull my socks up to review all of the new Christmas stock starting with one of my favourites so far, the Snowie bubble bar. I am still not ready for Christmas decorations but Lush Christmas stock is always VERY WELCOME!

Last year’s winter seemed to last forever… I can’t quite believe how fast this one is going.

Halloween has been and gone, October was a blink and you missed it month. Where did all the time go?

When I found out that Lush were bringing out a Frozen scented bubble bar this winter I was so, so excited. Although Snowie is slightly odd looking according to some, I can’t help but love him and on first sight all I wanted to do was grab every single Snowie Bubble Bar, ready to take them home.

The first time I came across the Lush scent that is Frozen was in the Frozen bath bomb, back then it was a Lush Oxford Street exclusive and I had to ask my friends and  family to post me them by the gallon.

Frozen was for a very long time my favourite Lush scent, it still is one of my favourites I have however collected a few more faves along the way.

The grapefruit and neroli oil used in the Snowie bubble bar work beautifully together. Neroli oil is actually scientifically proven to increase the levels of serotonin in the brain, AKA the happy hormone. The bubble bar’s scent is both refreshing and uplifting, paired with a Frozen bath bomb it makes one crazy, good bath cocktail.

Snowie was designed as a tribute to the late David Bowie, even those that aren’t a fan of his can see the link. What an icon he was, every time I see the bubble bar a David Bowie song starts in my head… Which is a nice change from the Frozen bath bomb’s ‘Let it Go!’

The smallest amount of Snowie creates mounds and mounds of fluffy white bubbles. The water underneath those bubbles isn’t very colourful, it appears quite milky white which isn’t a bad thing at all.

The water becomes so much softer and hydrates my dry, winter-tired skin beautifully.

Sometimes too many bubbles annoy me because of all of the popping going on, I however feel like I can lay back and relax in a Snowie bath, its scent is just so relaxing and lifts bad moods, helping me feel cool, calm and content.

Don’t be put of by its smaller size either. I manage to get 3 very overindulgent, bubble baths out of just the one.

I hope they bring this bubble bar back again next year as I think it’s a wonderful addition to the Frozen scent family, a Frozen shower gel or jelly to pair with it next year would make it even better… HINT, HINT @Lush 😉

Space Girl Bath Bomb from Lush

I am a little angry at myself for not taking more notice of the Space Girl Bath Bomb when it was readily available. Last year it sadly made the shortlist of Lush products that were set to go into retirement.

I alongside many other Lush fans wish that no Lush product ever had to be discontinued, it however makes way for new products so is an essential part of the Lush life.

As sad as we are to be losing a product, the excitement of new products always keeps us going…

When I found out that Space Girl was being replaced by the (at the time) Lush Oxford Street exclusive Frozen bath bomb I wasn’t as sad anymore.

A little bit of me will always miss Space Girl as alongside the Twilight bath bomb it was one of the first bath bombs I tried. The rest of the world however needed to experience Frozen so I waved goodbye to Space Girl while welcoming Frozen with open arms.

The Space Girl bath bomb has a unique Saturn shape, no other bath bomb that I have come across has shared this trait. It is mainly just one colour (light-violet) it however also has a sprinkle of red dust on its exterior giving it a pinch of extra colour which also adds to its space-like design.

Containing both grapefruit and bergamot oil makes a Space Girl bath both an uplifting and a refreshing experience. Although it is very small, Space Girl doesn’t disappoint.

Once in the bath the scent of Space Girl really hits you. Theatrically the Space Girl bath bomb is a complete show off. Not only do you get the purple-blue and red colours swirling around your tub, you also get to see and hear the popping candy within it react to the water, it sounds like a teeny tiny, bath-time firework display.

Snap, Crackle and Pop!

I always find that a grapefruit’s scent is a million times more desirable than what it actually tastes like. Before I tried the Space Girl bath bomb grapefruit was something I avoided in meals and bath products. Not anymore!

Before I’d taken the time to learn about Lush products I was very cautious about the products that had ‘glitter’ in, it just didn’t compute well with me, you don’t need to be a brain surgeon to know that glitter isn’t the safest thing to bathe your naked body in, I am however so glad I did my research (and took the risk of trying a product with it in) as it’s really no big deal.

For the first few months of using Lush I was using products with ‘glitter’ in without even noticing.

It’s not ‘glitter’ at all, it is more of a cosmetic shimmer and I have grown very fond of it. It’s honestly not like hugging a Christmas decoration at all… It is barely noticeable and has never, personally caused me any irritation.

I recommend buying Space Girls every time they become available in the Lush Kitchen, they really are a favourite amongst the retro loving Lushies.

Frozen Bath Bomb from Lush

frozen bath bomb
It blows my mind that the Frozen Bath Bomb was originally only available from Lush’s Oxford Street store. When Lush announced that it would become a staple store product in all stores and online I was well and truly over the moon.

I’m Disney mad (yes I do have other obsessions away from Lush.) Can you imagine the sheer level of excitement beaming out of me when I first found out about the Frozen bath bomb? A Lush product inspired by a much loved Disney film is in my personal princess-obsessed-opinion, the best idea that Lush have ever come up with.  Ever, ever, ever.

I knew upon the release of this bath bomb that I needed to get my hands on it as soon as possible. I would have literally done anything to get it and eventually I DID! all of my thanks goes to a Lush Oxford Street employee that went above and beyond to help me get my hands them. Thank you so much Bella!

The Frozen bath bomb is a soft, pastel-blue colour with a darker blue streak through it. I guess you could describe it as having a snazzy, dark blue belt. The colours are iconic to the film, I cannot express how happy this bath bomb makes me, I’m a loser I know but it is just so beautiful.

If  you’re a fan of the Disney film with the same name, you’d know just from the bath bombs colours that it is based on the main character of the film, Queen Elsa. Although Frozen has a fairly simple design, it is in my personal opinion one of the prettiest Lush bath bombs that I have ever seen on face value and in action.

I obviously had no idea what this product even smelt like back when it was only an Oxford Street exclusive. I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t like its scent as some Lush products simply just don’t get on with my nose. There was however no need to fret, this refreshing, solid ball of Disney magic did not disappoint my delicate-princess nose at all.

I have tried to explain the scent so many times and even over a year since its release I still cannot find the right words. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious doesn’t even touch upon it.

The grapefruit and neroli oil in the Frozen bath bomb both work beautifully together. Neroli oil is actually scientifically proven to increase the levels of serotonin in the brain. For the likes of you and me, that means that the use of neroli oil increases the production of the happy hormone! maybe that is why the Frozen bath bomb has such a happy affect on me?

In theory, I should not like the scent of this bath bomb AT ALL, I have never been a huge fan of grapefruit and I would actually go as far to say that I despise the stuff. Frozen has however changed my opinion on it ever so slightly. The bath bomb’s scent is both refreshing and uplifting, I just simply cannot get enough of it.

The magic of the Frozen bath bomb however only truly starts when it is placed in your bath water. Every time I use the Frozen bath bomb I  fall even more in love with it, every swirl of pattern it makes is unique and I always find myself mesmerised by its beauty and graceful movement.

The first time I tried it I literally couldn’t stop taking photos, I can remember being kick-my-self gutted as half way through its performance, my iPad’s memory became full. BOO!

I don’t take the greatest of photos, my hands are very shaky as well as having poor grip. How I have never dropped my camera in the bath is a miracle, I have actually insured all of my gadgets for water damage so although I’d scream the house down it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Frozen F3.png

It is a slightly ‘glittery’ bath bomb, I used to avoid glittery bath bombs as, as much as I love all things glitter, the thought of it being all over my body and potentially in my eyes freaks me out, before I knew about the Frozen bath bomb I voiced my fear of bath bomb glitter to the sales assistant in my local store.  (I think we were talking about Space Girl.)

She reassured me that they don’t contain ‘glitter, glitter’, more of a light cosmetic shimmer, hearing this, I tried some glitter based bombs and haven’t looked back. I did not look like I had lost a fight with a fairy, it really was just a light dusting of shimmer similar to the soft shimmer you find in some makeup such as bronzer or cream eye shadows.

The Frozen bath bomb is beautiful, dazzling and a real bath time delight. It truly is the perfect Frozen inspired product.
