Jester Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

There’s nothing I like more than a fruity Lush product. Jester Reusable Bubble Bar is therefore right up my street. Its scent is very similar if not almost the same as the Brightside Bubble Bar. It is rich with all of the best citrus ingredients making it a sharp, zesty and refreshing bath time treat.

Reusable bubble bars are slightly different to the normal bubble bars such as, The Christmas Penguin or Ultraviolet. With the normal bubble bars you’d break them up and run individual pieces under a running tap to produce bubbles.

A lot of people like the Lush bubble bars because of this. It’s nice to have a bath product that you can spread out over several baths rather than just  the one.

Having a reusable bubble bar brings a whole new meaning to making one bath product stretch over several baths. You don’t have to break a reusable bubble bar up, you simply run it under the tap, (as shown below) until you have the desired amount of bubbles in your bubble bath.

Once you have the desired amount of bubbles in your bath you simply put the reusable bubble bar somewhere it can dry off. I like to leave mine in my bath rack, I find that storing it like this between uses ensures that the bubble bar dries off evenly, making it last longer.

Out of just the one Jester bubble bar, I can easily get 5 generously bubbled bubble baths.

Not only does the Jester produce copious amounts of bubbles, it also turns your bath water a bright and magnificent orange colour.

Jester makes the water feel so much smoother, when I get out of the bath I can really notice it on my skin. It makes my skin silky soft and I also notice that it appears brighter too. It is the perfect product to perk you up if you find yourself slipping into the winter blues.

The Jester reusable bubble bar is a great addition to the Winter 2016 Lush line, I however wish it would create longer lasting bubbles. I find after about 10 minutes the bubbles seem to have mostly disappeared. Its scent however stays strong throughout your time in the bath and it does brighten my winter-tired skin.

The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar from Lush

I was so excited when I found out that Lush had decided to bring the, The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar back this winter. It took a break in winter 2015 but now it’s back and better than ever!

The Christmas Penguin bubble bar shares its scent with my beloved The Olive Branch Shower Gel, I have yet to review it (sorry I’m so slow) but I have however reviewed the Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar. Pop in the Bath is also lucky enough to share the same delicious scent as The Christmas Penguin.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Lush scent families I am going to attempt to explain them to you, you ready? good… Lush Cosmetics do so much more than mix random essential oils together. They master scents. Once a scent is mastered over a very long period of time (sometimes years) they create an abundance of products that share that mastered scent. This is where the Lush term ‘scent family’ comes from, if a product shares the same scent as another new or old one, it’s a part of that scent family. The Christmas Penguin bubble bar belongs to the, The Olive Branch family. It’s a little confusing at first as they nearly all have different names so don’t feel bad if you’re still finding your Lush-scent-feet!

The Olive Branch scent is one of my favourites of the Lush scents, it has a soft fruity smell that I can never get enough of. It’s a very delicate scent and I think this is why I was first so very drawn to it.img_9855

I have so many The Olive Branch scented products, in the picture above is a solid perfume of it, a Pop in the Bath bubble bar and of course the, The Christmas Penguin bubble bar.

Just one of the Penguin bubble bars can easily see me through 3 generously bubbled, bubble baths.

If you did want to go all out, half of one would make for a very luxurious bubble bath, sometimes a foam party for one is all you want in life, I won’t judge you for using a tiny bit more to make your bath that little, extra bit special!

As soon as you get into a The Christmas Penguin bubble bath you are submerged in a blanket of silky, soft and delicately scented Sicilian lemon, mandarin and sweet bergamot bubbles.  This mixture of essential oils not only give your mood a cheery citrus boost but also softens your skin.

Although The Christmas Penguin bubble bar is a Christmas product, I feel the scent is perfect for all seasons and not at all exclusive to the winter and Christmas season. This is shown through out the rest of the year in products that share its scent that are always readily available like the, The Olive Branch Shower Gel. I know Christmas time can be a little daunting for some people including myself, this bubble bar is great in that aspect as it’s not too in-your-face Christmas.

A Christmas Penguin bubble bath soothes, softens and moisturises your skin leaving it silky smooth. Once out of the bath the scent stays with you all day, I find myself not needing to moisturise after using it but if I want its delicious scent to have that little bit more throw, putting a dab of my The Olive Branch perfume on with a quick application of the, The Olive Branch body lotion helps a great deal.

I love how cheery the scent makes me feel and although it’s not my all-time favourite Lush scent it definitely makes it into my top 5. Why they didn’t have this as a bubble bar last year totally blows my mind, it is unquestionably one of my favourite products from Lush’s 2016 winter collection.

The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush

My first trip into a Lush store was an eye-opening and truly unforgettable  experience. I had a good look around it and I remember being completely overwhelmed with excitement as I explored the huge amount of products on offer. There were bath bombs, shower jellies, soaps… The bubble bars were however what interested me the most. I liked the idea that it was a product that could be spread out over several baths as opposed to just the one.The Comforter Bubble Bar.pngAs beautiful as everything was I decided that the bubble bars would be a good place to start my Lush journey. On that very first Lush trip I decided to purchase a The Comforter Bubble Bar. At the time I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it. All I knew is that it was one of the biggest bubble bars available at that time and that it smelt of blackcurrants, reminding me of one of my favourite childhood drinks, Ribena.

Being one of the first products that I got from Lush, the Comforter bubble bar will always be a product I think highly of. I really don’t know what I’d be doing with my life if I hadn’t have found Lush, I feel as if I have to thank the, The Comforter bubble bar as without it, who knows what hobby I would have right now?!untitled-1As mentioned above, The Comforter is one of the bigger bubble bars that are currently available to purchase from Lush. Above is a picture of the 3 larger sized bubble bars they stock at the time of writing this review. Going clockwise from the top there is The Comforter, Brightside and then Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds.

Below is a photograph of the Comforter and Pop in the Bath bubble bar together. I have included it in my review to show the significant size difference.13439180_1807553766140510_563932264857925577_nMany people break their bubble bars in half, I however like to make the most of them by separating them into several pieces. With the Comforter bubble bar I can easily get 6 to 8 generously bubbled baths out of it. The Pop in the Bath is a different story, I can only stretch it out to last for 2 baths. By all means I love both, the Comforter being a giant in comparison to other bubble bars is however what makes it more desirable to me.

comfor

The above photo shows how I use my bubble bars. I put the broken up pieces of The Comforter into a small sieve and let it run under the baths hot tap.

A lot of people however do not use a sieve, they just hold pieces of the bubble bar, under the tap in their hand, slowly and gently mushing it up. I find both ways of doing it show no different results, the only reason I use a sieve is because we have 2 separate bath taps. 1 is boiling hot and the 2nd ice cold therefore I let the sieve get burnt rather than my hand.

The smallest chunk of The Comforter bubble bar gives off copious amounts of fluffy white bubbles, the amount shown in the above picture is me over indulging. You honestly don’t need very much in there at all to have a perfectly bubbled, blackcurrant scented bath. The best thing about being able to split bubble bars is that if you did decide to add a few more bubbles it’s easy-peasy to just grab another chunk.

Once you sink into a Comforter bubble bath it feels as if you are coated in a soft, fluffy blanket of fruity goodness.

It’s hydrating and softens the rough patches on my skin and really does leave me relaxed. Its scent also lingers on your skin hours after getting out of the bath which always leaves me craving another very, very soon!
