Sultana of Skin Body Conditioner from Lush

When I see that the Lush Kitchen had added never-before-been-released Body Conditioners to their menu I squealed with delight. With my impending wedding only a few months away I could only afford 1 out of the 6 available. Choosing which one was such a hard decision to make, I however decided on the Sultana of Skin Body Conditioner as it shares its scent with the Blackberry bath bomb.

The Blackberry bath bomb is my favourite night time product. Magic is real, no other bath bomb helps me to wind down after a hard day better than the Blackberry. For me, Blackberry really does have magical properties because every time I use it I almost fall asleep in the bath, as a diagnosed insomniac this is a revelation and a half!

Although the Sultana of Skin body conditioners name doesn’t sound or is in any way familiar to the Blackberry bath bomb, I can safely say, now that I have my gigantic pot of it that it does share its scent and it is heaven in a tub.15965351_1908166806079205_2884945557339576823_nI always grab a small amount of a Lush body conditioner and then begin to work it into my body in a similar way to how you would a shower gel. I however focus a little bit more on the dry patches of my skin such as my elbows.

The Sultana of Skin body conditioner has a beautifully smooth texture that is a similar consistency to not-bits yogurt. As with most Lush products, the smallest amount of Sultana of Skin body conditioner goes a very long way. For the first 2 uses I was still using the excess cream that was on the lid.

As much as I enjoy the Snow Fairy and Christingle body conditioners there’s just something that extra bit special about Sultana of Skin. The fact I love the Blackberry Lush scent so much obviously helps a lot but it’s how it feels on my skin that really impresses me.16142402_1908166819412537_5605533859635902812_n

The Snow Fairy body conditioner is a lot heavier than Sultana of Skin, both are however just as hydrating as the other. I like how light the Sultana of Skin feels on your skin and I feel out of all the body conditioners that I have tried it is the one that has left my skin in the best condition. My skin doesn’t feel greasy at all, it’s perfect.

I am so, so impressed with the Sultana of Skin body conditioner, if I wasn’t getting married in a few months I would definitely buy the Butterball and Big Blue too… Maybe even a cheeky Lemony Flutter as well because the cuticle butter equivalent is fantastic.

Hopefully they bring out smaller pots soon so that I can get them too, I don’t know how they will beat the quality of Sultana of Skin as it’s a pot full of heaven in my eyes. Lush are however very good at surprising me, they always go above and beyond with every new product release which is why I always get so excited!

Love Spell Massage Bar from Lush

Last year (2016) I thought that the Valentine’s Day range was Lush’s best Valentine’s one yet. I honestly wasn’t expecting very much quantity wise. After all, the Christmas line that finished only a month before had spoilt us rotten.

Stating the very obvious, the Valentine’s line is always the first line to come out once the New Year is in full swing, after all of the busy Christmas work Lush has done over the last few months, you would expect them to calm things down a little. They however never do and the Valentine’s line of 2016 blew my mind!

My expectations would have been fulfilled with 2 or 3 limited edition, lovey-dovey themed products. I would have been perfectly satisfied with those 2 or 3 too.love-spell-massage-barAs for 2017 we are only in January and Lush Cosmetics have over excelled themselves again. 2017’s Lush Valentine’s line, blows the likes of 2016’s out of the water. Lush never fail to surprise me and this is why I have made them a part of my everyday life.

The Love Spell Massage Bar was first released as a part of 2016’s Valentine’s range as an Oxford Street exclusive. Imagine my delight when I found out that for Valentine’s 2017 it would be making a return and not just as an Oxford Street exclusive but in all stores and online too!

Love Spell’s scent is a hard one to describe. It has a subtle and musky rose aspect to it. It is a very gentle scent, after using it I feel content, relaxed and carefree.

Though the design of this massage bar is very simple, it really stands out to me when it is in amongst the other Lush massage bars. Love Spell leaves my skin smooth, well hydrated and smelling gorgeous. Lush really need to make a dusting powder that shares its scent. Although Love Spell isn’t my favourite massage bar but it’s up high on the list of my must haves.

The beautiful shade of pink and its heart design will catch many peoples eye. As I mentioned in my review of the Tender is the Night massage bar, massage bars can be used as body lotion too. The sky really is your limit when it comes down to Lush products. I love how versatile they all are.

Love Spell is a fantastic addition to the Lush massage bar collection and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Lush decided to add it to the every day, all year through range.

Lovestruck Bubble Bar from Lush

lovestruck-bubble-barThe Lovestruck Bubble Bar from Lush’s 2017 Valentine’s line is most certainly a head turner. Its design is inspired by the heart-eyed iPhone emoji, (Unless you have been living under a rock) I’m sure you knew that already though…

Out of the three Valentine bubble bars of 2017, Lovestruck, Unicorn Horn and Ladybird it is unquestionably the most vibrant in colour.

Before I had read what ingredients Lovestruck had, I imagined it would be a similar scent to one of the bubble bars that were an Easter release last year, Tweet. Described as a bubble bar that is ‘refreshing and citrusy,’ I couldn’t wait to get it in the bath!

The first thing I noticed about the Lovestruck  bubble bar was its size. It’s not as big as a Brightside or Comforter, but it’s quite close. If you managed to get ahold of a Down the Rabbit bubble bar last year I’d say it’s a similar size to that although to me it feels more stocky.

The next thing that I noticed was that Lovestruck’s scent was the polar opposite of what I had expected it to be. The citrus element was barely noticeable, all I could really smell was the geranium oil in it.

In a way it reminded me of the Ladybird bubble bar a little but, with a splash of bitter lemon instead of the peppermint. I really wasn’t sure on its scent but I felt the same way about the Ladybird bubble bar last year so decided to give it a go.

A little of this bubble bar goes a long way, the smallest amount created mounds and mounds of fluffy white bubbles, the water was also silky smooth. It left my skin soft and hydrated. Which is everything I love in a bubble bar.

The water underneath the blanket of bubbles was also a beautiful and summery yellow. Unfortunately the scent seemed to intensify as the bath ran, this is fairly normal for a bubble bar from Lush and it isn’t a bad thing, unless you do not like the bubble bars scent…

I really couldn’t get on with the scent. Everything else about the bubble bar was however, perfect. For me the scent of a Lush product is really important to me so I won’t be getting the Lovestruck bubble bar again.

I feel its scent is a lot like the Ladybird bubble bar purely because of the strength of the geranium oils scent in both. The peppermint in Ladybird seems to mask the geranium oil to a point that I can like it, the lemon in Lovestruck however doesn’t cut it in the same way for my nose.

Personally I would have liked the Lovestruck bubble bar to not be packed with geranium oil as the Ladybird bubble bar has it in already, with them being in the same range I think I’d have preferred it if two products did not share such a dominantly scented ingredient. It’s a jackpot if you like the said scent. If you don’t however get on with it, it is quite the loss.

Geranium just isn’t a Valentine’s scent to me. By all means the Ladybird and Lovestruck bubble bars are totally different. Lovestruck has lemon in it while Ladybird has peppermint, it’s just the one mutual ingredient of geranium oil that trumps me.

It’s very rare for me to dislike a Lush product but Lovestruck sadly just wasn’t for me. I am however glad I tried it as it left my skin feeling fabulous and it is a really cute bubble bar.

I’m a top Lush geek and really enjoyed getting photos of it, it photographs brilliantly and with its cute and wacky, bold colours I can still see it being very popular for those that don’t mind its scent.
