Christingle Body Conditioner from Lush

Christingle Body Conditioner.pngYou may be wondering why I have delayed the posting of my review on the Christingle Body Conditioner for so long. I actually got hold of my first batch back in October 2015 so have had access to it for almost a year now, from the first time I used it I loved it, I however came across a small problem…

The problem was that it made me feel so cold. One of my medical conditions makes it hard for me to regulate my own body temperature and when I get cold I am basically part snowflake. Reverse the situation to too hot and I’m basically part sun.

As soon as you open the bathroom door and hit non bathroom air it feels like you’ve plunged into an icy lake, it’s incredibly refreshing but also very, very cold. It’s definitely one to use in the mornings as I can imagine using it at night could wake the dead.

I was gutted but I couldn’t use it anymore, in the winter anyway…

I decided to put my pot of it in the back of my cupboard as I knew it would be the perfect product for me to use throughout the upcoming summer. Months and months seemed to pass, the sun was shining more and more but by July we still hadn’t even got the summer duvet out. Where was SUMMER?

Late July summer finally arrived in the North of England and on the first ridiculously hot day the first thing I dug out (apart from the summer duvet) was last years pot of Christingle.

It has a beautifully smooth texture that is similar in consistency to yogurt with no bits. It is incredibly minty and even in the much warmer month knocks you for six.

I always grab a little and then begin to wash it into my body in a similar way to how you would a shower gel. I however focus a little bit more on the dry patches of my skin as well as the other bits of my skin that had caught a little too much sun. The smallest amount of Christingle soothes my summer tired skin so well, my skin has never felt so silky smooth.

After application you then rinse it off just like you would shower gel too.

The best bit is how tingly it makes your skin feel. During winter I couldn’t cope with that sensation but when it’s summer it helped me stay as cool as a cucumber. Using it not only cooled and soothed my skin but I also noticed it stopped me from sweating as much.

I hope they bring this back as I will be stocking up on more of this, this year as it literally saved my life over the last 6 to 8 weeks. It is perfect for the summer time, I didn’t have one unbearably hot, sleepless night and neither did my boyfriend after he cottoned on to how good Christingle Body Conditioner was…img_5745-1

On one occasion my boyfriend may have got a little bit of Christingle on a bit of his body that he doesn’t really want to feel all cold and tingly… I am sure that the screams coming from our bathroom could be heard for several miles. I am finding it very difficult to not giggle about it even now, it was hilarious.

Ever since that one incident, he hasn’t ever made the same mistake again and I have had only positive feedback in regards to Christingle as well as a shocked face when I said it wasn’t available to buy anymore as it’s a winter only product.

This winter I will most certainly be buying a pot to take on our honeymoon next year, it’s amazing on sun kissed skin. The perfect after-sun, shower treat!

Space Girl Bath Bomb from Lush

I am a little angry at myself for not taking more notice of the Space Girl Bath Bomb when it was readily available. Last year it sadly made the list of Lush products that were set to go into retirement.

I alongside many other Lush fans wish that no Lush product ever had to be discontinued, it however makes way for new products so is an essential part of the Lush life.

As sad as we are to be losing a product, the excitement of new products always keeps us going…

When I found out that Space Girl was being replaced by the (at the time) Lush Oxford Street exclusive Frozen bath bomb I wasn’t as sad anymore.

A little bit of me will always miss Space Girl as alongside the Twilight bath bomb it was one of the first bath bombs I tried.

The rest of the world however needed to experience Frozen so I waved goodbye to Space Girl while welcoming Frozen with open arms.

The Space Girl bath bomb has a unique Saturn shape, no other bath bomb that I have come across has shared this trait. It is mainly just one colour (light-violet) it however also has a sprinkle of red dust on its exterior giving it a pinch of extra colour which also adds to its space-like design.

Containing both grapefruit and bergamot oil makes a Space Girl bath both an uplifting and a refreshing experience. Although it is very small, Space Girl doesn’t disappoint.

Once in the bath the scent of Space Girl really hits you. Theatrically the Space Girl bath bomb is a complete show off. Not only do you get the purple-blue and red colours swirling around your tub, you also get to see and hear the popping candy within it react to the water, it sounds like a teeny tiny, bath-time firework display.

Snap, Crackle and Pop!

I always find that a grapefruit’s scent is a million times more desirable than what it actually tastes like. Before I tried the Space Girl bath bomb grapefruit was something I avoided in meals and bath products. Not anymore!

Before I’d taken the time to learn about Lush products I was very cautious about the products that had ‘glitter’ in, it just didn’t compute well with me, you don’t need to be a brain surgeon to know that glitter isn’t the safest thing to bathe your naked body in, I am however so glad I did my research (and took the risk of trying a product with it in) as it’s really no big deal.

For the first few months of using Lush I was using products with ‘glitter’ in without even noticing.

It’s not ‘glitter’ at all, it is more of a cosmetic shimmer and I have grown very fond of it. It’s honestly not like hugging a Christmas decoration at all… It is barely noticeable and has never, personally caused me any irritation.

I recommend buying Space Girls every time they become available in the Lush Kitchen, they really are a favourite amongst the retro loving Lushies.

Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb from Lush

Lush Cosmetic’s Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb is adorable and was designed with children in mind. It contains lavender, chamomile and sandalwood oil which is the perfect recipe to prepare you or your little ones for a great night’s sleep.

The Ickle Baby Bot has a very gentle formula and because of this was one of the first Lush products that I ever tried. I was told that it was suitable for babies from 6 months plus, feeling safe with this knowledge, I figured that Ickle Baby Bot was a good product choice for myself when I was newbie Lushie.

Ickle Baby Bot is a miniature sized, robot shaped, pastel-blue coloured bath bomb. As I said above it was designed with kids in mind and is desirable to both boys and girls.

I can imagine my niece opening it and saying ‘ooo it smells of flowers!’ And my nephew wondering if it is food.

I do not dislike this product I just prefer the alternatives that are a bit more theatrical in the bath tub. I popped my very first Ickle Baby Bot in to my bath then went straight to the toilet. Before I came back to it, it had already fizzled away. As it is a smaller sized bath bomb I wasn’t too surprised by this.

Pushing bath time theatrics aside, I love how quick, simple and effective the Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb is. Sometimes you just want to get on with your bath making Ickle Baby Bot a popular choice for people pushed for time.

An Ickle Baby Bot bath is perfect for the night time. It can be made even better if paired up with the Twilight shower gel and or the Twilight bath bomb or the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb.

I love lavender and how versatile it is. It makes Ickle Baby Bot the perfect bath time buddy for winding down and clearing your head of any stress. Being one of the cheapest bath bombs currently on offer, Ickle Baby Bot though very small is still a very popular bath bomb.
