Bananaaa Shower Cream from Lush

The Bananaaa Shower Cream is one of four limited edition products that Lush have created in a collaboration with the recently released movie, Despicable Me 4.

I love the Despicable Me world and am very much looking forward to seeing the new film; But until I can, I’ll be using the products from the Lush X Despicable Me 4 line to get me through the wait.

I know you’re only here for a review on the shower cream itself, but I can’t not mention the Bananaaa shower creams absolutely epic packaging.

It’s a clear bottle, the shower cream inside is minion yellow and its label is the face of a minion. It’s so cute and clever!

Consistency wise the Bananaaa shower cream is a little runny, but it’s also very creamy. Hence it being a shower cream instead of a shower gel.

I know it’s an odd description, how can it be runny and creamy? It just is… I can’t recall a past Lush shower product like it.

Taking the blob photo below was a little difficult to do as the shower cream seems to have a mind of its own, how very minion of it!

I never have pouring cream on my deserts, but the consistency is very similar to that.

The Bananaaa shower cream contains plenty of skin hydrating glycerine, oat milk, coconut cream infusion, tonka absolute and vanilla absolute.

Fresh from the bottle the shower cream doesn’t quite smell of fresh banana, but it does resemble the foam banana sweets I used to love when I was little.

Some are comparing its scent to the Nana shower gel, but we’ll touch upon that more later…

Each of the Lush X Despicable Me 4 products are meant to share a fragrance, but I believe this is one of those scents that can’t quite be replicated across different formats. Each are a little different.

The Bananaaa shower cream lathers up easily and because it’s not very thick, a small amount of it goes a very long way.

Mixed in with the steam and hot-shower-water the scent of the Bananaaa shower cream really takes hold, engulfing you and your bathroom. It’s super creamy and lathers up well, it feels soft on your skin, it is almost like a body milk.

With it being so like a body milk I found the Bananaaa shower cream incredibly moisturising. The added glycerine really helps lock the moisture into your skin.

24 hours later my skin still feels incredible and still has the gentle foam-banana-sweet scent.

How the scent settles on your skin is what reminds me of the Nana shower gel. It’s not the same BUT elements of it are very similar.

Overall, I LOVE the Bananaaa shower cream, it’s been a while since Lush have released a shower cream and I’ve missed them. There’s just something about how a shower cream leaves your skin feeling that is a little bit more luxury than the average shower gel.

Minions Bath Bomb from Lush

The Minions Bath Bomb is a brand-new product from a small but mighty Lush line created alongside the release of the Despicable Me 4 movie.

I love the Despicable Me world, especially all things minion so couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Lush X Despicable Me 4 line.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing any of the Despicable Me films, you’re probably wondering what a minion is… Minions are small, yellow, pill-shaped creatures that live to serve the main character in the Despicable Me films, Gru the supervillain.

The Minions bath bomb is, as all minions are, a bright yellow with blue overalls on. Some minions have two eyes, some just one. The one eyed minion is what the Minions bath bomb is based on.

If you’ve been a Lush customer for a while you’ll find its single candy eye familiar as it’s a very similar design to the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb.

Each Minions bath bomb is approximately 190g and fits snuggly in my hand.

I love how clever the design is, even though the bath bomb is the standard round shape of a bath bomb (instead of the pill-shaped minion shape) you can still instantly recognise it as a Despicable Me minion.

The Minions bath bomb contains tonka and vanilla absolute, the scent is meant to emulate banana milkshake.

When I am holding the bath bomb in my hand, I can just about make out the banana-like-scent although it’s not very strong.

It’s a very dry and powdery fragrance, it reminds me of the banana powder I used to have in the kitchen cupboard when I was little, a spoonful of that in a glass of milk was one of my favourite drinks growing up.

Minions’ scent is very gentle, making it a perfect bath bomb for customers that don’t like super strong Lush scents.

Lush have been pushing so many sweet foody scents on customers this Summer; The Minions bath bomb is a great subtle alternative to those strong and sweet foody scents.

As soon as the Minions bath bomb touches your bath water you are greeted with an explosion of blue and yellow foam.

It doesn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning, charging around the bath water like a little minion coloured speed boat.

After just a few minutes the minions candy eye falls off, sinking to the bottom of the bath where it begins to slowly melt.

There wasn’t as much bath art as I expected from the Minions bath bomb but the blue and yellow colours spilling out of it created almost illuminous, bright green water. Colour wise, it reminded me of the Fizzbanger bath bomb.

After ten minutes, the bath bomb has fully dissolved leaving you with silky soft bright green water.

I found myself soaking in the bath a little longer than I ordinarily would as it was so gentle. Sadly, the banana element of the bath bombs scent doesn’t get much stronger during use, but you can just about detect it although it is very subtle.

Once out of the bath my skin felt smooth and hydrated, scent wise, all that I could really smell was a small amount of vanilla.

Again, because of this I can see it being a popular bath bomb with customers that prefer the tamer, less in your face Lush fragrances.

Overall, I am obsessed with the Minions bath bomb. It has a very well thought out design and because of this, is probably one of my favourite collaboration-bath-bombs that Lush have ever made!

Green Machine Bubble Bar from Lush

The Green Machine Bubble Bar is yet another product from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle collaboration, TMNT x LUSH.

I was lucky enough to receive one in a surprise box sent to me by Lush. With bubble bars being one of my favourite Lush inventions, this made me very happy indeed!

All of the products in this line are inspired by no other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

Design wise, the Green Machine bubble bar looks similar to the likes of the big, all-year-round Lush bubble bars, BrightsideThe Comforter and Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds.

The Green Machine is green and purple and made in the same way as the three bubbles bars I mentioned above. Two separate colours of bubble bar are rolled together then flattened, to get the pretty swirl design that it has.

At 200g per bubble bar, Green Machine is one of Lush’s biggest currently available. The Green Machine bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients: bergamot oil, clove bud oil, jasmine absolute, rose absolute, violet leaf absolute and ylang ylang oil.

On paper the Green Machine’s scent is floral through and through HOWEVER, the inclusion of ylang ylang and bergamot oil adds an extra but very subtle fruity layer to the fragrance.

I personally find violet leaf really good at combating tension headaches, so I am always happy to have a product or two with violet leaf in, in my possession.

To use the non-reusable bubble bars like the Green Machine bubble bar, I break it up then stick the bubble bar pieces into a sieve and let the running-tap trickle over it.

This method is the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have worked out that it is the best way to get the most out of your bubble bar, bubble wise.

The best thing about the Green Machine bubble bar is how far such a small amount of it goes.

You can get (at the very least) three baths out of just one bar without compromising on its scent quality and bubble amount. If you did however feel like you wanted to use more of it per bath, you can always add more, you are in charge after all!

The blanket of fluffy white bubbles starts to grow as soon as you place the broken-up pieces of the Green Machine Bubble Bar under the running tap.

Underneath the fast-building blanket of fluffy, white bubbles it looks like the water is turning a khaki green but after a while I realised it was more of a golden brown. (Not the shade of red wine that I had predicted it to be!)

Once in the bath, I couldn’t help but notice how soft the water was, the scent was just as powerful (if not more) when combined with the hot bath water and steam.

Once out of the bath, its scent although a lot more subtle, did last on my skin for a good-few-hours. Overall, I did like the Green Machine bubble bar, I was a little disappointed that the end water was brown but everything else about it was TURTLEy awesome!
