Glinda Upland Body Spray from Lush

Lush have collaborated with the number one must-see film of the year, Wicked. The phenomenal Wicked X Lush range is out now, just in time for the film’s highly anticipated release!

Each product in this well thought out collection oozes all-things-Oz and showcases some very unusual yet beautifully harmonious ingredient blends that shouldn’t work well together yet do…

With several of the products in the Wicked X Lush collection having brand new Lush-scent-families I have my reviewing-work well and truly cut out. Today I will be reviewing the Glinda Upland Body Spray.

The Glinda Upland body spray comes in the most unbelievably beautiful packaging. The spray bottles are still the traditional Lush black, but their labels are in Wicked inspired colours. Glinda Upland’s label is of course bright pink and has a shiny pink silhouette of Glinda in the centre of its label.

Ingredients wise, the Glinda Upland body spray contains rose oil, palmarosa oil, sesame seed absolute, vanilla absolute, almond essential oil, orris oil and benzoin resinoid.

As Lush-scent-families go, with the Wicked X Lush line, I don’t think there has ever been a stronger scented collection of products.

The Elphaba Thropp body spray (the other body spray in the Wicked X Lush collection) is actually the strongest scented Lush product I have ever used, and the Glinda Upland body spray is a very close second…

Both have incredible staying power. I am always hesitant to use too much of a new Lush body spray/perfume as I am easily overwhelmed. After my experience with Elphaba Thropp I used the Glinda Upland body spray sparingly which turned out to be a very wise decision!

One spritz was more than enough to last on my clothes for at least 18 hours. Most Lush scents are considered quite strong, but both the Wicked X Lush body sprays are on a whole new level of powerful.

The Glinda Upland scent is velvety, creamy and sweet. My nose really picks up on the rose oil in it although, the rose oil is softened somewhat with the sweetness of the vanilla. It almost has a pistachio like layer to its scent too. It makes me think of a bakery that shares its space with a flower shop!

The beautifully designed labels on the Wicked X Lush body sprays will definitely tempt the customers in. After all, it did me! I never usually blind buy body sprays, but I couldn’t resist when I saw them in this incredible Oz collection!

The Pink Fizzes Good With Green bath bomb that is also a part of the Wicked X Lush collection is said to be a blend of both of the Wicked X Lush body sprays.

I would never have come to this conclusion had I not been told though. I cannot smell the Elphaba Thropp fragrance in the Pink Fizzes Good With Green bath bomb at all, I can however recognise notes of Glinda Upland in it.

BUT again, both of the Wicked X Lush body sprays scent-families are so complicated and full of such a complex amount of ingredients that it’s almost impossible for me to recognise either/or in the bath bomb.

Overall, I really like the Glinda Upland body spray. Like the Elphaba Thropp body spray it is a little intense scent-strength-wise but is my favourite of the two because of how velvety and sweet it is.

The Wizard Bath Bomb from Lush

When Lush announced their collaboration with the highly anticipated film Wicked, I found myself just as excited for the limited edition Oz-inspired Lush line as I was for the release of the movie.

One of the standout products from the Wicked X Lush line is undoubtedly the, The Wizard Bath Bomb. I was lucky enough to be gifted one by Lush and couldn’t wait to get it into the water.

The, The Wizard Bath Bomb is one of Lush’s most intricate looking bath bombs to date; It’s an emerald-green bath bomb coated in a golden (what appears to be once placed in the water) dissolvable foil?!

All of Lush’s bath bombs are hand pressed, which is hard to believe when you see just how detailed the, The Wizard bath bomb is. Lush have really upped their game making the bath bomb moulds with their magical 3D printer. The attention to detail of each new Lush product that comes out just seems to keep getting better and better…

The Wizard bath bomb is in the shape of the Wizards face, it has stern facial features, prominent brows a big defined nose, bold, thick lips and two deep set eyes.

Each of the, The Wizard bath bombs are approximately 180g so about the same size as the standard Lush bath bomb.

Some of the ingredients included in the, The Wizard bath bomb are galbanum oil, petitgrain oil, thyme absolute, oakmoss absolute and geranium oil.

Describing scents is not one of my talents so I always get a little anxious when a new, complex Lush fragrance like the one found in the, The Wizard bath bomb comes along… Like the Pink Fizzes Good With Green bath bomb from the same Wicked X Lush line, The Wizard bath bomb has a brand new fragrance.

To me, the, The Wizard bath bombs scent is super earthy, green and slightly sweet. Like all of the Wicked X Lush stock its scent is powerful.

Out of all of the scents created by Lush for the Wicked X Lush collection, I think The Wizard bath bombs scent is my favourite or at the very least one of my top two!

As soon as the, The Wizard bath bomb touches the water there is an explosion of green foam. The Wizard bath bombs thin, outer coating of gold then begins to break off in tiny clumps in a similar way as the golden letters do on the Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel bath bomb.

If you have ever seen or used gold foil in arts and crafts or even as nail art, you’ll know what I mean when I say that this is what the clumps of gold breaking away from the, The Wizard bath bomb look like.

Apart from the golden foil-like-flecks you won’t get much bath art out of The Wizard, its scent and how detailed it is before putting it in the water is definitely its best features.

I can only apologise for not getting better photos of the green water decorated with the golden flecks, it’s a bath bomb you really must experience for yourself to appreciate its true beauty!

The Wizard bath bomb took just under ten minutes to fully dissolve, leaving behind silky soft, emerald-green bath water.

By the time the bath bomb had fully dissolved, there wasn’t any floating golden flecks left on the surface of the water but there was a definite shimmer in the water when the light hit it at certain angles. Once out of the bath my skin felt really soft and appeared much brighter too.

After using the bath bomb that morning, the scent stayed on my skin for the rest of the day. My husband actually asked me what product I had used once we got in bed that night. For it to last so long shows just how powerful a scent The Wizard bath bomb has.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed using the, The Wizard bath bomb. I loved how the golden shimmer flaked off of the bath bomb and how perfectly green the water was. With The Wizard being so strongly scented I was surprised at just how much I did in fact like it.

I hope this isn’t the last we see of a product with The Wizard bath bombs scent, I think it would work wonderfully as a body spray or even a candle!

Elphaba Thropp Body Spray from Lush

Lush have collaborated with what is unarguably the must see film of the year, Wicked.

With its impending cinema release, Lush have created a Wicked X Lush range, to die for!

Each product within this carefully crafted collection oozes all-things-Oz and showcases some very unusual yet beautifully harmonious ingredient blends that shouldn’t work together, but somehow do.

With several of the products also having brand new fragrances I have my reviewing-work cut out. Today I will be reviewing the Elphaba Thropp Body Spray.

The Elphaba Thropp body spray comes in the most unbelievably beautiful packaging. The spray bottles are still the traditional Lush black, but their labels are in Wicked inspired colours! Elphaba Thropp’s label is of course bright green, just like Elphaba and has a shiny green silhouette of Elphaba in the centre of its label.

Ingredients wise, the Elphaba Thropp body spray contains hiba wood oil, cedarwood absolute, vanilla absolute, Sicilian lemon oil, pink pepper oil and cardamom absolute.

As Lush fragrances go, I don’t think there has ever been a body spray as strongly scented as Elphaba Thropp. I haven’t come across any other body spray or perfume from Lush with its same staying power. I am always hesitant to use too much of a new Lush body spray/perfume as I am easily overwhelmed…

Because of this, the first time that I wore Elphaba Thropp I hardly sprayed any on me at all. It was one cowardly half squirt, but that was enough. Four days later I could still smell the body spray on my cars seat belt which, kind of blows my mind as the one half-hearted squirt of it that I sprayed was on my jumper, not the seat belt!

The Elphaba Thropp scent makes a bold and invigorating first impression. It is sweet, comforting but unmistakably led by its pink pepper oil ingredient, the vanilla in it is also very prominent. As the fragrance settles the woodiness of the body spray starts to come through.

It’s not only one of the longest-lasting body sprays that I’ve ever owned from Lush, but also one of the most complex scents from Lush too.

The beautifully designed labels on the Wicked X Lush body sprays will definitely pull in the customers, it did me! I never usually blind buy body sprays, but I couldn’t resist when I saw them in this incredible and magical Oz collection.

The Pink Fizzes Good With Green bath bomb that is also a part of the Wicked X Lush collection is said to be a blend of both of the Wicked body sprays combined.

I personally would never have guessed this, I cannot smell the Elphaba Thropp fragrance in the Pink Fizzes Good With Green bath bomb at all, which really confuses me considering Elphaba Thropp is the strongest scent I have ever come across from Lush?!!

I understand this makes little sense, BUT the bath bomb just smells so different I’d never have known it had Elphaba Thropp in if I hadn’t been told.

Overall, I really like the Elphaba Thropp body spray, it is a little intense scent-strength-wise for me which is why I have said like and not love. One gentle spritz of Elphaba Thropp is more than enough per wear, with it lasting on fabric for 4 plus days it feels like quite a commitment! Never have I smelt a Lush product as powerful as this body spray!
