The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar (2024)

The, The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2024 Christmas line and is not to be confused with a previous product that shares its name the, The Magic of Christmas reusable bubble bar.

Design wise, the, The Magic of Christmas bubble bar looks and is made in the exact same way as the year round best-selling bubble bars, BrightsideThe Comforter and Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds.

Lush get the different coloured bits of bubble-bar-dough then roll them together. The miniature sized ones are then squished from the top, a bit like you would do when laying cookies out on their baking tray. The larger sized bubbles are made a little differently, they are rolled into a big sausage shape and then chopped into slices (See above photo)

Each of these methods is how Lush get the beautiful bubble bar to look so perfectly swirly.

You can only buy the full sized The Magic of Christmas bubble bars individually, but I believe that the smaller sized ones are available in some of the Christmas giftsets.

The Magic of Christmas bubble bar is made from two striking colours: red and gold. Much like the Mother Christmas bath bomb from the same Winter collection, its top layer is decorated with a delicate sprinkling of dissolvable stars.

If you’ve read any of my reviews before, you’ll know how much I love when Lush adds the dissolvable stars to their products. They may only be a small detail, but I feel they make such a difference.

The striking red and gold parts of the bubble bar spiral around each other, swirling in an almost hypnotising way. I love how the colours clash so well with each other. If you are familiar with the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar, both that and The Magic of Christmas look very similar to each other.

At approximately 200g each, the full sized The Magic of Christmas bubble bars are one of Lush’s bigger bubble bars currently available.

The Magic of Christmas bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients: cinnamon leaf oil, grapefruit oil, neroli oil, carob resinoid and ginger oil.

When I first heard about this version of the, The Magic of Christmas bubble bar, I mistakenly assumed it would share the same scent as the older reusable bubble bar of the same name. Its scent is however brand new.

The, The Magic of Christmas bubble bar’s scent is best described as a warm, subtly spicy blend of cinnamon and ginger. It also has a layer of zest that comes from the grapefruit. This zesty layer softens the ginger’s intensity making it more sweet than spicy.

To use the non-reusable bubble bars like The Magic of Christmas, I break them up then stick the bubble bar pieces into a sieve and let the running-tap spill over it (see above photo).

This method is the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have worked out that it is the best way to get the most out of your bubble bar, bubble wise.

One of the best things about The, The Magic of Christmas bubble bar is just how far it goes.

You can get (at the very least) four baths out of just the one The Magic of Christmas bubble bar without compromising on its scent quality and bubble amount. If you did however feel like you wanted to use more of it per bath, you can always add more, you are in charge after all!

The blanket of fluffy white bubbles starts to grow as soon as you place the broken-up pieces of The, The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar under the running tap.

Underneath the fast-building blanket of fluffy, white bubbles the water turns bright orangey-red. The water underneath the bubbles is especially soft and in turn, left my skin feeling even softer once I was out of the bath, even my hands felt smoother!

The scent lasted throughout the bath and lingered in the air long after pulling the plug. My husband actually asked me what I had used when we came up stairs to go to bed because he thought it smelt delicious.

My skin was also left fragranced although, it was very subtle for a product that has cinnamon in. Normally anything with cinnamon in clings to my skin and is much stronger.

Overall, I really enjoyed using The, The Magic of Christmas bubble bar and plan on getting an extra one before the 2024 Christmas line retires.

I have my fingers crossed that The Magic of Christmas isn’t one of Lush’s many one-hit-wonder-products as I think it’s a wonderful edition to the Lush Winter line!

Invaders From Mars Bubble Bar from Lush

The Invaders From Mars Bubble Bar is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2024 Halloween line.

This quirky bubble bar has been created in the shape of a Martians head. Its dark pink brain is visible, and it has a bright green face with two huge circular eyes. Alongside its eyes it also has two large slits for nostrils and a prominent dimple on its chin.

It’s actually quite skeletal to look at and has a cheeky but somewhat bewildered smile on its face. It doesn’t have the prettiest of faces but I’m guessing that all Martians think the same about human faces!

With it being pink and green it has a similar colour palette to the Lord of Misrule bath bomb (although its colouring is all that the Invaders From Mars bubble bar has in common with the Lord of Misrule bath bomb).

At approximately 120g each the Invaders From Mars bubble bar fits perfectly in my hand.

The Invaders From Mars bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients: lime oil, sweet wild orange oil and olibanum resinoid.

It shares its scent with the Never Mind The Ballistics bath bomb.

Some of the products that share its scent are the 2024 version of the I Want My Mummy bath bomb, the Out Of This World bath bomb, the Tunnel Of Love soap and Fun For All The Family bubble spinner.

The Invaders From Mars bubble bars scent is best described as zesty, fruity and oh so vibrant… It is bold, a little sharp and also has a slightly woody undertone in it that never fails to lighten my mood whenever I am around it.

To use the non-reusable bubble bars like Invaders From Mars, I break them up then stick the bubble bar pieces into a sieve and let the running-tap spill over it.

This method is the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have worked out that it is the best way to get the most out of your bubble bar, bubble wise.

One of the best thing about the Invaders From Mars bubble bar is just how far such a small amount of it goes.

You can get (at the very least) two baths out of just the one bubble bar without compromising on its scent quality and bubble amount. If you did however feel like you wanted to use more of it per bath, you can always add more, you are in charge after all!

A blanket of fluffy white bubbles starts to form as soon as you place the broken-up pieces of the Invaders From Mars bubble bar under the running tap.

Underneath the blanket of fluffy white bubbles, the water takes on a slightly lighter shade of what mulled wine usually looks like.

The bath water created by the Invaders From Mars bubble bar is incredibly soft and has such an uplifting and powerful fragrance. Using the Invaders From Mars bubble bar also really made a difference to the softness of my skin.

Overall, I loved using the Invaders From Mars bubble bar, you can still smell its fruity scent on you for several hours after and I also like that it isn’t your typical, bog-standard spooky Halloween product too, I adore its fun and quirky design!

Hocus Pocus Soakus Bubble Bar from Lush

The Hocus Pocus Soakus Bubble Bar is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2024 Halloween line. I was lucky enough to be gifted a bar by Lush.

Design wise, the Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bar looks and is made in the exact same way as the year round best-selling bubble bars, BrightsideThe Comforter and Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds.

Lush get two different coloured bits of bubble-bar-dough then roll them together. The miniature sized ones are then squished from the top, a bit like you would do when laying cookies out on their baking tray. The larger sized bubbles are made a little differently, they are rolled into a big sausage shape and then chopped into slices (See above photo)

Each of these methods is how Lush get the beautiful bubble bar to look so perfectly swirled!

You can only buy the full sized Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bars individually, but the smaller sized ones are available in some of the Halloween giftsets.

The Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bar has two colours, a bright yellowish-green and white. It is also no ordinary bubble bar as it glows in the dark.

At approximately 200g each the full sized Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bars are one of Lush’s biggest bubble bars currently available (if you don’t include the supersized ones anyway!).

The Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients: lemongrass oil, bergamot oil and luminescent zinc sulfide – (the magical ingredient that makes the bubble bar glow in the dark!)

It shares its scent with the Avobath bath bomb and Glow In The Dark shower gel that is also a part of this year’s Halloween line.

The Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bars scent is best described as a bright and uplifting, citrusy scent. Products that share its fragrance are often described as clean, energising, sharp and zesty, it’s the perfect scent to get you relaxed and revitalised all at the same time.

To use the non-reusable bubble bars like Hocus Pocus Soakus, I break them up then stick the bubble bar pieces into a sieve and let the running-tap spill over it.

This method is the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have worked out that it is the best way to get the most out of your bubble bar, bubble wise.

The best thing about the Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bar (apart from it glowing in the dark) is just how far such a small amount of it goes.

You can get (at the very least) three baths out of just the one bubble bar without compromising on its scent quality and bubble amount. If you did however feel like you wanted to use more of it per bath, you can always add more, you are in charge after all!

The blanket of fluffy white bubbles starts to grow as soon as you place the broken-up pieces of the Hocus Pocus Soakus Bubble Bar under the running tap.

Underneath the fast-building blanket of fluffy, white bubbles the water is turning a neon yellow colour, I didn’t get to test out this theory but apparently if you charge the bubble bar in light before running the bath, the bubbles glow faintly if you turn off the light.

The water underneath the bubbles is incredibly soft, I don’t think there’s been a bubble bar this hydrating on the skin for a long time. I felt almost like I had to rinse myself off! The scent lasted throughout the bath and lingered in the bathroom’s air and on my skin long after pulling the plug.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Hocus Pocus Soakus bubble bar, it really helped blast away any tiredness I had been feeling as well as lifting my mood.
