Sweet Ruby Bath Bomb from Lush

In celebration of World Bath Bomb Day 2025 and to mark Lush’s 30th birthday, Lush Cosmetics have pulled out all the stops by releasing 30 unique bath bombs; A dazzling mix of golden oldies, revamped classics, and brand-new delights.

The first one I’ll be reviewing from this exciting line-up is the Sweet Ruby Bath Bomb.

Sweet Ruby stands out immediately with its vivid hot pink colour and a simple yet bold design. Made into Lush’s traditional bath bomb shape, it has the number 30 stamped into its side, a proud nod to its place in this celebratory collection!

The Sweet Ruby bath bomb contains some of the following ingredients: cream of tartar, davana oil, tonka absolute, and fir balsam resin.

It shares its scent with the Home Sweet Pineapple body balm, a scent family that was inspired by pineapple cake.

Each bath bomb is 180g each fitting snuggly in your hand.Sweet Ruby’s fragrance is unmistakably summery; Think sugary pineapple with a juicy, mouthwatering edge. It reminds me of one of my all time favourite ice lollies, the classic pineapple split. Sweet, fresh, and tropical.

Once in the bath, the Sweet Ruby bath bomb instantly begins to fizzle away starting with an explosion of vivid hot pink foam that slowly thins out.

As the Sweet Ruby bath bomb gently spins and dissolves, lighter and darker shades of pink begin to bubble out of it, painting the surface of your bathwater with delicate swirls and perfectly pink bath art, far more than I expected from such a solid, single shaded bath bomb!

As it fizzes away, the scent blossoms fully, flooding your bathroom with sweet, fruity warmth.

It’s as though a beach bar has opened right in your own home. Think sunshine, cocktails, and sand in between your toes!

The Sweet Ruby bath bomb takes a good 12 minutes to dissolve, which means you get to enjoy the pink bath art for that little bit longer. The water it leaves behind is hot pink, rich in fragrance, and gloriously soft to the touch.

Once out of the bath, I was pleased to find my skin felt smooth, refreshed, and lightly scented with that same tropical sweetness, it clung to my skin for several hours after.

All in all, the Sweet Ruby bath bomb took me by surprise. I hadn’t expected much bath art from it, but the layered pinks were a welcome treat. It has such a fun, fruity scent and in my opinion is a perfect addition to Lush’s 30th birthday collection.

I am so excited to try and review the other 29 in the collection!

Kuromi Bath Bomb from Lush

I’ve always had a soft spot for characters that are a little different from the norm, so when I found out that the character Kuromi would be featuring as a bath bomb in the new Lush X Hello Kitty and Friends collection, I couldn’t wait to get a hold of her.

The Kuromi Bath Bomb is one of eight limited edition products from Lush’s latest collaboration with the Hello Kitty franchise, and it is every bit as mischievous and adorable (in a tough way of course) as the character.

I was lucky enough to be gifted the Kuromi bath bomb from Lush.

Shaped just like the cheeky, goth-queen herself, the bath bomb captures Kuromi’s signature look perfectly. She is wearing her pointed black jester-style-hat over her bunny ears, and it has the famous pink skull stamped on its front.

Her nose, just like the Hello Kitty bath bomb from the same collection is also a single tapioca pearl.

Each Kuromi bath bomb fits neatly in the palm of your hand and weighs in at around 130g.

Kuromi contains some of the following ingredients: almond essential oil, benzoin resinoid and ylang ylang oil.

The Kuromi bath bombs scent is from Lush’s Happy Blooming scent-family. It’s a rich, cherry-almond scent. The almond note is the most prominent ingredient to my nose, it is almost marzipan-like, the benzoin is also detectable and adds a layer of cosy vanilla-like warmth.

As soon as the Kuromi bath bomb comes into contact with your bath water there is an explosion of pink foam that has a very small amount of black in it. This is not what I was expecting at all considering how dark Kuromi appears to be at first glance.

The black part of the bath bomb seems to be a very thin layer, and underneath it, it is all bright pink!

The Kuromi bath bomb takes just over 5 minutes to fully dissolve and creates different variations of pink-coloured bath-art-swirls with a sprinkling of black bits in it, it almost looks like someone has added a small amount of black pepper to it…

The water didn’t stay fragrant for very long, but it was incredibly soft leaving my skin hydrated and appearing brighter.

Again, the scent had died down once the bath bomb had dissolved and I couldn’t detect it on my skin once I was out of the bath. Which may sound like a negative but was a good thing for me as sometimes I find marzipan scents quite overpowering.

Overall, I absolutely adore the Kuromi bath bomb, it is the Kuromi character through and through and I love it’s colouring, the black and pink clash together in the best of ways!

Hello Kitty Bath Bomb from Lush

I love cats, so a Hello Kitty X Lush collab was a dream come true for me, I knew as soon as I heard that it was being released that I had to try it all!

The Hello Kitty Bath Bomb is one of eight limited edition products from Lush’s new Hello Kitty and Friends X Lush range and it’s every bit as cute as you’d expect.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Hello Kitty bath bomb from Lush.

Shaped in the main characters face; The Hello Kitty bath bomb features all of Hello Kitty’s signature details, from her single red bow to her little yellow nose!

For those that aren’t familiar with the world of Hello Kitty; Hello Kitty is one of the most famous cartoon-cats in the world. The bath bomb looks just like the cartoon Hello Kitty, so much so that it’s hard to believe it is handmade!

The Hello Kitty bath bomb is bright white with two little black eyes, she has three black whiskers either side – as well as the above mentioned signature red bow and little yellow nose.

Each of the Hello Kitty bath bombs fit snuggly in my hand and are approximately 130g.

Her red bow is actually a bath melt stuck to her head, it is made of hydrating illipe butter and her cute yellow nose is a tapioca pearl!

The Hello Kitty bath bomb has a new fragrance (well kind of) it is a combination of two of Lush’s bestselling scent families, Snow Fairy and Milky Bath.

The bath bomb has the bubblegum sweetness of Snow Fairy and the musky-clean-smell of Milky Bath, it’s a very clean smelling, sweet and sugary blend that will leave you wanting more.

Other products in the Hello Kitty and Friends X Lush collaboration share the same fragrance but in this bath bomb format I feel as if Milky Bath is the more dominant of the two scent families within it.

The Hello Kitty bath bomb contains some of the following ingredients: illipe butter, kokum butter, Brazilian orange oil, patchouli oil, benzoin resinoid, vanilla absolute and a single tapioca pearl.

As soon as the Hello Kitty bath bomb touches the water there is an explosion of white foam. It doesn’t take very long for the red, bath-melt-bow to start to melt too; Slowly spreading tiny streaks of red across the now thinner, white foam decorating the water’s surface.

The Hello Kitty bath bomb didn’t create much bath art, but it did throw out a lot more colour than I had expected. The white and red combined, slowly turn the bath water a beautiful shade of barley pink.

With thanks to Hello Kitty’s bath-melt-bow, the water left behind is absolutely perfect for hydrating your skin, because of this I took the opportunity to shave my legs while having my soak, and I’ve never had a smoother shave.

By the end of the bath the scent had almost all but gone from both my skin and the bathroom, the softness and way it left my skin however lasted right through to the next day.

Overall, I loved this bath bomb and am looking forward to trying the other products in the Hello Kitty and Friends range, especially those that share the same scent as this bath bomb!
