Scan Me For Scares Shower Gel from Lush

The Scan Me For Scares Shower Gel is yet another brand new Lush product that comes from Lush’s Halloween 2024 collection. I was lucky enough to be gifted a bottle of it by Lush but have bought a bottle of it too.

I can’t quite believe how many new shower gels Lush have treated us to in 2024.

This year’s Halloween range not only includes the brand new Scan Me For Scares shower gel but also the brand new, Glow In The Dark shower gel too.

The Scan Me For Scares shower gel is a dark shade of autumnal red and is shimmery throughout.

Past Lush-shower-gels with any shimmer in them would often separate, the shimmer collecting at the bottom of the bottle of shower gel. This left them needing a good shake to get the shower gels back to looking how they did when first bottled up; Something that wasn’t always possible to do.

Over the last 18 or so months Lush seem to have however mastered the art of making sure the sparkly aspect of their shower gels now no longer separate. The Scan Me For Scares shower gel is a perfect example of this innovation.

The shimmer in Scan Me For Scares is a similar dark red to the shower gel giving it an almost cat eye reflection effect when the light hits it.

Consistency wise the Scan Me For Scares shower gel is quite thick but still very easy to get out of the bottle.

Some of the ingredients included in the Scan Me For Scares shower gel are an infusion of cranberry, fine sea salt, corn syrup, cedarwood oil, vetivert oil and almond essential oil.

Scent wise, I’d describe the Scan Me For Scares shower gel as almond led and woody. It’s a rich, creamy marzipan-sweet-scent that has a subtle tartness to it too thanks to the cranberry infusion.

The Scan Me For Scares shower gel lathers up easily. With it being a little thicker, I imagined you’d have to use more to get the most out of it but a small amount of it seems to go a long way. It lathers up into a lighter red foam too which is different to most other shower gels that foam up white.

Mixed in with the steam and hot-shower-water the scent really takes over your bathroom. If you’re a fan of eating anything marzipan based, you’ll really enjoy using this shower gel.

The most unique part of this shower gel is however what is on its bottle. There is a QR code above the name of the shower gel that you can scan with your phone’s camera. This QR code takes you to a playlist of Spotify songs that will help you slip right into the theme of Halloween.

Once out of the shower the Scan Me For Scares scent remains on your skin for a good few hours; Although it is subtle, it is still very much detectable.

Overall, I have enjoyed using the Scan Me For Scares shower gel, I think its scent is more suited to Christmas than Halloween BUT I loved the idea of the playlist that comes with it!
