The Passion Shower Gel was first released by Lush as a part of their 2024 Valentine’s Day line. Its name is very similar to the recently released Lush Kitchen exclusive, Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel but it is only their names that are similar. Both are very different shower products.
The Passion shower gel is described on Lush’s website as a ‘lustrous shower gel’ that is fit to go hand in hand with ‘a love fuelled by passion and commitment’.
It is a darker shade of rose-red and is shimmery through-out in an almost pearlescent way. Quite often with Lush shower gels, the ones with added sparkle begin to separate quickly, with all the shimmer collecting at the bottom of the bottle; BUT I have heard that Passion is a new type of shower-gel-formula that won’t separate.
I haven’t had it long enough to confirm but so far, so good!

The Passion shower gel contains a long list of ingredients, some of them being ingredients often associated with romance; There’s an infusion of red rose petals, fresh passion fruit, buchu oil, fine sea salt, litsea cubeba oil as well as sweet wild orange oil.
Passion shares its scent with several recently released Lush products, the Cyclops bubble bar, SpongeBob bath bomb and Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub just to name a few.
The best way to describe the Passion shower gel’s scent is a rich passion fruit like fragrance, I have heard several customers say that with it being so fruity, it would also work well as a Summer-time product. Maybe a Summer perfume with the same fragrance would sell well, Lush?
Consistency-wise the Passion shower gel is lovely and thick but also super-silky, something I’m not used to from Lush shower gels.

The Passion shower gel lathers up quickly and a very small amount goes an incredibly long way. A blob the size of a one-pound coin is more than enough to wash your whole body.
Its scent really does come alive when combined with the hot water and steam from your shower and it feels incredible on your skin.
Unfortunately the shower gels scent doesn’t stay on your skin for very long but I couldn’t help but notice how soft my skin was after using it, it feels like I’ve used a dusting powder, it’s so silky to touch! I wouldn’t say it was a particularly hydrating shower gel, but it doesn’t dry out my skin either.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Passion shower gel and hope to grab an extra bottle before the 2024 Valentine’s Day line retires as I think it would be especially fabulous to use in the Summer!
