Sticky Dates Body Lotion from Lush

The Sticky Dates Body Lotion is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Easter line. I was lucky enough to get to try it before its official release date as Lush kindly sent me a bottle.

No matter the product format, any item that comes out in Lush’s Sticky Dates scent-family seems to always sell well. Another item from this year’s Easter line that shares the body lotions scent is the Sticky Dates sugar scrub.

My first experience with the Sticky Dates fragrance was through the Sticky Dates shower gel. I have also enjoyed the Sticky Dates co-mingle body scrub and Sticky Dates body spray too. It’s a scent that I fell in love with upon first sniff and one I am always happy to see be recreated into a new Lush product!

Most Lush body lotions come in Lush’s stand-out black pots; However, the Sticky Dates body lotion comes in a bottle. You can get it in either a 100g bottle or a 250g bottle.

Before I had a bottle of it in my possession, I imagined that the fact it was sold in bottles and not pots could have been because it was a slightly runnier consistency. I was wrong, it is not at all runny and is in fact super thick and creamy.

The main ingredients of the Sticky Dates body lotion are, sunflower oil, vanilla pod decoction, organic jojoba oil, glycerine, fair trade organic cocoa butter, organic illipe butter, carob resinoid, benzoin resinoid and sandalwood oil. The glycerine is the magic ingredient that helps lock in all the moisturising ingredients into your skin.

The Sticky Dates scent is best described as mouth-wateringly delicious. It smells like a hot and gooey sticky toffee pudding with a generous scoop or two of refreshing, vanilla ice cream. The ingredients in common with the shower gel equivalent are the vanilla, sunflower, sandalwood oils and both carob and benzoin resinoids.

Even though the Sticky Dates body lotion is quite thick, it’s incredibly easy to get out of the bottle.

A very small amount of it goes a long way; although, I wouldn’t blame you for overindulging with it as it smells so good! Another thing that surprised me about the Sticky Dates body lotion was how quickly it melted into your skin.

Some body lotions can leave you feeling a little greasy, but I’m pleased to report that the Sticky Dates body lotion doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky, clammy, or over moisturised at all.

A small amount of rubbing the lotion in ensures that it sinks into your skin leaving it hydrated in all the good ways, all while leaving it appearing brighter and feeling soft and perfectly refreshed too.

As I said earlier, a small amount of the lotion goes a very long way making it incredibly cost effective. My favourite thing about this lotion is how long its scent lingers on your skin. It lasts ALL DAY, that and how it leaves my skin plump and bright through to the next day is what makes it a standout body lotion. I can’t wait to see what Sticky Dates product Lush releases next!

Bunny Moon Bath Bomb from Lush

The Bunny Moon Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Easter line.

Weighing in at approximately 230g each, it is a little bit lighter than the similar, rabbit-head-shaped Ostara bath bomb from last year’s (2023) Easter line.

With the Bunny Moon bath bomb being 230g it’s one of the biggest in the Easter collection.

The Bunny Moon bath bomb is bright blue with bright pink ears, it’s made in the shape of a rabbit’s head and has several pink craters in it, giving it it’s moon-like-look.

The Bunny Moon bath bomb contains coconut milk powder, rice bran absolute, lime oil, benzoin resinoid and carob resinoid. It is described on Lush’s website as ‘a comforting bedtime bath.’

It has such a complex scent that I don’t even know where to begin to describe it. My nose definitely picks up on the lime in it but it’s also a little smoky too.

I must admit, it’s not the type of Lush scent that I would usually go for but I like to try everything at least once, as you never know when you’re going to come across a new favourite.

The Bunny Moon bath bomb’s scent really is an acquired taste making it a strange choice from Lush. It will most likely appeal to customers who like scents that are strong and a little out of the ordinary.

As soon as the Bunny Moon bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of blue fizzing bubbles.

It doesn’t take long for pinky-purple streaks to appear from the Bunny Moon bath bomb too.

The scent of the bath bomb really comes to life once placed into the water, it’s very, very intense. I’m always honest in my reviews and I’m not a huge fan of the scent, it’s just a little too strong and smoky for me.

Putting my thoughts on the Bunny Moon bath bombs scent to one side it does create plenty of photo worthy pink and blue bath art, my photos in this review (as always) do the bath bomb no justice at all.

The Bunny Moon bath bomb’s scent lingers in your bathroom and takes a good 10 minutes to fully dissolve.

Once you’ve pulled the plug its scent still hangs around somewhat. As for how it smells on your skin once you’re out of the bath, I’m pleased to say it’s a lot more subtle. I much prefer the scent at this potency level. Sometimes less is more.

The water left behind by the Bunny Moon bath bomb is dark blue and silky smooth thanks to the coconut milk powder.

My skin still feels silky smooth several hours after getting out of the bath. I wouldn’t say my skin feels particularly hydrated after using Bunny Moon but I’m not desperate to slather myself in a body lotion either.

Overall, I thought that the Bunny Moon bath bomb was brilliantly colourful during use, but I’d have liked to have seen it with a lighter more Spring appropriate fragrance.

I can’t help but hope that Lush bring out another bunny-head-shaped bath bomb design for next Easter too!

Sticky Dates Sugar Scrub from Lush

Sticky Dates Sugar Scrub is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024’s Easter line. I was lucky enough to get to try it before its initial release as Lush gifted me a pot.

Back in August 2023 Lush released the Barbie Dream sugar scrub and I have never loved an exfoliation product from Lush more. I knew there and then that Lush needed to make more sugar scrubs.

Since then, we’ve had The Old Songs are Waking sugar scrub and now, Sticky Dates!

The Sticky Dates sugar scrub comes in both a 135g and 290g pot and contains caster sugar, golden caster sugar, fair trade organic cocoa butter, argan oil, extra virgin coconut oil, carob resinoid, benzoin resinoid, sandalwood oil and date syrup.

As you can see in the photo below the Sticky Dates sugar scrub looks like sparkly, golden sand.

The Sticky Dates sugar scrub shares its scent with several incredibly popular products, there’s the Sticky Dates shower gelSticky Dates body spray and Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub just to name a few.

Its scent is quite simply DELICIOUS. It smells like a hot and gooey sticky toffee pudding with a generous scoop or 2 of vanilla ice cream.

Consistency-wise, the Sticky Dates sugar scrub is thick, it’s just like the Barbie Dream and the, The Old Songs are Waking sugar scrubs that I mentioned earlier. Perfect!

On the pot it says, ‘shower in hydrating argan oil and golden caster sugar which gently exfoliates then dissolves, leaving your skin soft and moisturised.’

After scooping out a small amount, I lathered it up and went straight to work with it.

I advise rubbing the sugar scrub in, in small, circular motions followed by rinsing it off. A small amount of the scrub goes a very long way, and I was pleasantly surprised at just how quickly it lathered up too. If you feel you need more, grab more!

I am just as impressed with the Sticky Dates sugar scrub for exfoliation as I was the other two previously mentioned sugar scrubs.

Lush really do need to make more sugar scrubs in all of their best-selling scents, all of the ones that have been released so far have been absolutely incredible. I’d love a Halloween sugar scrub in the Zesty body spray scent.

I speak so highly of Lush’s sugar scrubs because of how they make my skin feel after using them. Lush’s new sugar-scrub-formula is gentle, moisturising but incredibly scrubby at the same time.

With Sticky Dates and the other sugar scrubs, Lush have balanced the ratio of caster sugar and skin-moisturising ingredients perfectly. Sticky Dates is just as buttery as it is scrubby. Lush’s sugar scrubs are some of the best exfoliators I have ever used. There’s no need for body lotion afterwards and my skin has never looked so bright.

Overall, I can’t get enough of the Sticky Dates sugar scrub, and I won’t be surprised if the Sticky Dates sugar scrub becomes a mainline product at some point.
