The Comforter Body Scrub from Lush

Today I am reviewing The Comforter Body Scrub, one of the five chosen to be made by the Lush Community.

Back on the very first day that I ever visited a Lush store, I came out with a The Comforter bubble bar. The Comforter is a hugely popular Lush-scent-family and rightly so as it’s delicious!

The Comforter scented product line is huge, several of the products I have most recently reviewed include the Xolo bath bombThe Comforter shower gel and Love Struck bath bomb.

The Comforter body scrub is the same two colours as the bubble bar equivalent, dark pink and white. Both colours are blended together creating an almost tie die like pattern in the pot.

The Comforter body scrub contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, caster sugar, fair trade organic cocoa butter, organic almond oil, extra virgin coconut oil, bergamot oil, blackcurrant absolute and cypress oil.

The fact that the, The Comforter body scrub is a sugar-based scrub had me very excited as, as much as I love the salt based scrubs, the finer texture and consistency that sugar scrubs have – I feel, just do a better job exfoliation wise.

With sugar scrubs having a finer texture they aren’t as harsh on the skin but still get the job done – exfoliating your skin perfectly all while moisturising it too. The texture of The Comforter body scrub has an almost marshmallowy texture, reminding me a little of kinetic sand.

The Comforter body scrub smells as its name suggests, comforting. It’s mouth-wateringly good, reminding me of a bowl of mashed juicy blackcurrants. It makes me want to drink a cup of hot blackcurrant squash.

To use, I scoop out about 3 fingers worth of the body scrub per shower; This amount can easily scrub your whole body… You could possibly get away with less but I’m greedy, especially when it comes to anything Comforter scented!

With just a small amount of water, The Comforter body scrub turns into a silky yet perfectly scrubby paste that simply glides across your skin, taking with it any dead skin and dirt. As it buffs away all of the nasties it also soothes and hydrates your skin. – There’s no need to moisturise once you’re out of the shower saving you time and money.

It’s an excellent product for both hydrating and exfoliating skin leaving it appearing brighter and refreshed in just seconds, in short, it is effortless skin perfection.

After using The Comforter body scrub its yummy scent remains on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day.

Overall, I love The Comforter body scrub. I would love for it to become a mainline product as it’s that good; Alongside the Posh Chocolate body scrub I think it may be my favourite of the Lush Community scrubs!

Posh Chocolate Body Scrub from Lush

With a brand new year comes brand new Lush products, and I’m amazed at just how many of them are body scrubs!

A brand-new body scrub has not only featured in the latest Lush Kitchen subscription box but also in the 2025 Valentine’s Day collection. Lush have also just launched five more limited-edition body scrubs, each with scents selected by the Lush Community.

Today I am reviewing the Posh Chocolate Body Scrub – (one of the five chosen to be made by the Lush Community). I was lucky enough to receive a pot of it as a gift from Lush.

The Posh Chocolate body scrub is a continuation of the fairly new, Posh Chocolate scented product line. First, we had the Posh Chocolate body wash, followed by the Posh Chocolate shower gel. Both products (especially the shower gel) are huge hits with customers so when a body scrub equivalent was released it didn’t come as much of a surprise.

The Posh Chocolate body scrub contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, caster sugar, fair trade organic cocoa butter, organic extra virgin olive oil, cocoa powder, illipe butter, fairtrade organic mango butter, cocoa absolute, Australian sandalwood oil and vanilla absolute.

The fact that the Posh Chocolate body scrub is a sugar-based scrub had me very excited as, as much as I love the salt based scrubs, the finer texture and consistency that sugar scrubs have – I feel, just do a better job exfoliation wise.

With sugar scrubs having a finer texture they aren’t as harsh on the skin but still get the job done – exfoliating your skin perfectly all while moisturising it too.

The Posh Chocolate body scrub smells just like a tub of hazelnut and cocoa spread. I hate to state the obvious, but you’d be surprised at how many people do ask… Lush products aren’t meant to be eaten but if I was forced into eating one, I’d definitely reach for something from the Posh Chocolate line!

I scoop out about 3 fingers worth of body scrub out per use; This amount can easily scrub your whole body (you could possibly get away with less but I’m greedy). With a small amount of water, it’s easy to work the Posh Chocolate body scrub into a paste that glides across your skin taking with it any dead skin and dirt.

It’s an excellent product for both hydrating and exfoliating skin leaving it appearing brighter and refreshed in just seconds.

After using the Posh Chocolate body scrub its sweet chocolate scent remains on your skin for several hours. It leaves your skin smoother, brighter-in-appearance and well hydrated, there is no need to moisturise after using it – although, I wouldn’t say no to a Posh Chocolate scented body lotion!

Overall, I love the Posh Chocolate body scrub. I’m disappointed that, at the time of writing this review, it’s only available for a limited time as I truly believe it would do exceptionally well as a mainline product.

Skinny Dip Shower Gel from Lush

The Skinny Dip Shower Gel is one of six that Lush are releasing a limited amount of on the Lush app on the 26th of June 2024 and online on the 28th. They will also be available in selected Lush flagship stores.

The Skinny Dip shower gel is a milky white colour and much like the Super Milk shower gel from the same drop has a runnier consistency compared to some of the other more recently released shower gels.

The Skinny Dip shower gel isn’t new to Lush, it was actually one of Lush’s first ever shower gels back when they first opened their doors in 1995. If I had a time machine, the first place I’d visit is that first Lush store and I’d buy absolutely EVERYTHING!

Although the Skinny Dip shower gel is one of Lush’s older products, it hasn’t seen the light of day for a very long time as the original formula wasn’t self-preserving and was therefore subject to go off. Lush switched up an ingredient or two to make it self-preserving and now it’s back and better than ever!

Consistency wise the Skinny Dip shower gel is a little thicker than the Super Milk shower gel but not by much. I recommend giving it a good shake before using it as this thickens it up.

Some customers have been quite vocal about the thinner consistency of the shower gels included in this latest shower gel drop but as long as they do exactly what a shower gel should, I’m happy – runny or thick.

The Skinny Dip shower gel contains plenty of skin hydrating glycerine, coconut infusion, fine sea salt, cold pressed murumuru butter, cedarwood oil, clary sage oil, clove bud oil, palmarosa oil, vetivert oil and ylang ylang oil.

The shower gels label describes the scent so well that I’m just going to quote it instead of attempting to describe it myself. Skinny Dip is a ‘chocolatey, clove-scented mixture with a hint of tropical essential oils to calm the mind and soothe the skin.’

It has a lot of ingredients; Seeing its long list I was expecting the scent of Skinny Dip to be strong and overpowering, it is however a very gentle fragrance.

To me, it’s perfect. The clove gives it a spicy kick but without it being super intense, something that is quite rare when clove is involved.

The Skinny Dip shower gel lathers up easily and a small amount of it goes a very long way. Mixed in with the steam and hot-shower-water the scent really takes hold as does how it feels on your skin.

Using just a little bit of the Skinny Dip shower gel feels like millions of tiny hands are massaging all of my aches and pains away. With it being a little runnier, it also works well when squirted into a running bath.

I found the Skinny Dip shower gel incredibly moisturising and super relaxing to use, clove is a magical ingredient, as is glycerine. 24 hours later my skin still feels and looks incredible after using Skinny Dip.

Once out of the shower the Skinny Dip scent is detectable on your skin although very subtle. I thought I wouldn’t like how gentle the scent is but it’s really grown on me, sometimes less is more.
