The Craic Bath Bomb from Lush

This year, Lush have put together a small but special St Patrick’s Day collection, with both products being inspired by the traditions and folklore of Ireland.

Today, I’m reviewing The Craic Bath Bomb. It is shaped like Ireland’s iconic Celtic harp – the inspiration behind it comes from the Irish word ‘craic,’ which means fun.

In Ireland, some of the best ‘craic’ happens in local pubs, where good drinks, lively music, and great company come together. This bath bomb is designed to capture the spirit of St Patrick’s Day, bringing the essence of a classic Irish celebration to your bathroom.

Weighing in at approximately 105g, it is about half the weight of the bestselling bath bomb Intergalactic.

Colour wise, The Craic bath bomb is golden on its outside. In many ways it is very similar to the, The Wizard bath bomb, it has the same golden foil-like coating and is a shade of emerald-green underneath.

The Craic bath bomb contains some of the following ingredients: almond essential oil, vetivert oil, cedarwood oil, fair trade organic cinnamon powder, cedarwood powder and plenty of popping candy.

Its scent is from Lush’s Bûche De Noël scent family. It is an almond heavy fragrance, so very sweet. The cedarwood oil in it adds a layer of woodiness to the fragrance too making it a very relaxing and soothing fragrance.

As soon as the, The Craic bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of thin green foam, as it slowly dissolves golden flecks begin to break away from the bath bomb decorating the green foam with a golden shimmer.

The Craic bath bomb doesn’t offer much bath-art-wise BUT does put on quite the show, it doesn’t take long for the popping candy to make an appearance adding crackling sound to your bathing experience.

I’m not a huge fan of Lush’s Bûche De Noël scent family, but once The Craic bath bomb hit the water, its rich almond sweetness is softened down somewhat. The woody elements of its fragrance then became more prominent, and it was at this point that I realised how relaxed I was feeling in its waters…

It took approximately seven minutes for my, The Craic bath bomb to completely dissolve. The water left behind is a forest green that is decorated with shimmery golden flecks, the bath water is also silky smooth to the touch and incredibly hydrating on your skin.

Its scent didn’t really stick to my skin at all, but it did leave my skin feeling soft. Overall, I absolutely adored the, The Craic bath bomb, with it not being a scent I particularly like I was worried I wouldn’t like it, but I really enjoyed using it and am looking forward to what Lush come up with for St Patrick’s Day next year!

Edamummy Bean Bath Bomb from Lush

Year in, year out, Lush never fail to surprise me with their quirky, unique, well thought out products, the Edamummy Bean Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product released as a part of Lush’s 2025 Mother’s Day range.

Edamummy Bean is of course a play on words for edamame beans.

Weighing in at approximately 100g, it is slightly larger than the Love Letter bath bomb.

Edamummy Bean is a vibrant green, ‘snap pea’ shaped bath bomb. The two peas in its pod both have two eyes and a mouth, and they are looking at each other smiling.

This Mother’s Day, edamame-bean-shaped bath bomb was inspired by the way all of the beans in an edamame pod grow together in a safe space. It symbolises the journey of motherhood, where both parent and child grow and learn side by side, finding comfort in each other’s company.

Colour wise, the Edamummy Bean bath bomb is a very similar green to one of last year’s Mother’s Day products the Mother Nature bath bomb.

The Edamummy Bean bath bomb contains some of the following ingredients: bergamot oil, geranium oil, carob resinoid and pea; Rice and hemp protein powder.

It has a brand new scent; The blend of geranium and carob resinoid replicate the smell of a toffee apple. It’s very sweet and a little smoky too. Think burnt toffee but in a good way!

The Edamummy Bean bath bomb fits snuggly in my hand and being one of Lush’s smaller bath bombs, it’s cheaper price will appeal to the masses.

Lush have been creating more and more smaller bath bombs recently, and I’m all for it! Just because they’re small doesn’t mean they will be any less magical than the bigger ones…

As soon as the Edamummy Bean bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of hissing green foam.

The Edamummy Bean bath bomb doesn’t offer much bath-art-wise being all green throughout BUT, its delicate toffee apple scent and way it softens your bath water makes it a must try.

The burnt toffee element of this bath bombs fragrance really shines through once you place it into the water, the scent fills your bathroom as it quickly dissolves away.

The last part of the bath bomb to be taken over by the water are the two peas, they are smiling and looking at each other lovingly until the very end!

It takes approximately four minutes for the Edamummy Bean bath bomb to completely dissolve, the water left behind is a bold green and makes your bath water silky smooth and incredibly hydrating.

Its scent lingers in your bathroom once you’ve pulled the plug and can still be smelt on your skin (although subtly) long after getting out of the bath too.

Overall, I absolutely adore the Edamummy Bean bath bomb, the inspiration behind it is a perfect representation of what a family should be. Simple yet beautiful products like the Edamummy bath bomb makes you realise that big, multicoloured bath bombs aren’t always the best ones.

Sparkling Light Shower Gel from Lush

The Sparkling Light Shower Gel is a part of Lush’s 2024 Diwali line.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a celebration of hope, joy and the triumph of light over darkness.

The ‘lights’ throughout Diwali represent the light that banishes the darkness away; They act as a symbol of not just hope but unity too.

With this in mind, it is easy to see where the Co-Create team pulled their inspiration from for Sparkling Light, it’s easily one of (if not the) most beautiful shower gels of 2024!

The Sparkling Light shower gel contains some of the following ingredients: Fine sea salt, almond infusion, black pepper oil, clove bud oil, jasmine absolute, patchouli oil and Australian sandalwood oil.

Sparkling Light shares its scent with another product from this year’s Diwali line, the Lotus Blossom bath bomb.

The Lotus Blossom/Sparkling Light scent is very difficult to describe; To my nose the most dominant ingredient is the black pepper, followed by the patchouli and sandalwood.

It’s a very warm and peppery fragrance with a sweet but woody base. At first, I wasn’t entirely sure if I was a fan, but it grew on me very quickly because of its warmth. There is something about the scent that is slightly exotic too, the more you sniff, the more that seems to come through.

The Sparkling Light shower gel is silver and sparkly throughout. Made in the same type of formula as the Passion shower gel, the shimmer in Sparkling Light shower gel won’t separate, collecting at the bottom of the bottle like old Lush shower gels were known to do.

The Sparkling Light shower gel is thick but easy to get out of the bottle; A very small amount of the shower gel also goes a long way, something I wasn’t expecting with it thicker consistency. It seems that with every new shower gel that Lush release; they just keep getting better longevity wise.

Sparkling Light lathers up quickly but is a little gloopy, gloopiness aside, once mixed with a little shower water, it simply glides over your skin leaving it clean, soft and refreshed.

Mixed in with the steam from the shower the scent really intensifies leaving you ready to light up the night!

Once out of the shower the Sparkling Light scent remains on your skin for several hours, it’s very strong, meaning there isn’t any need for perfume afterwards.

Overall, the Sparkling Light shower gel is a great edition to the Diwali line, I love how beautiful it is and having a bath bomb with the same scent to pair it with, makes it even better!
