The Guardian of the Forest Body Scrub is a brand-new Lush product that (at the time of writing this review) has only ever been available as an exclusive product in March 2024’s Lush Kitchen subscription box.
I haven’t heard any news that it will be released elsewhere, but I have my fingers crossed that it will be available again in the future.🤞
When I opened my Lush Kitchen Subscription Box, I was pleased to see that the Guardian of the Forest body scrub was in a big pot weighing in at a whopping 290g. In November 2023’s subscription box we had the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub in a tiny 100g pot and I got through it a lot quicker than I’d have liked…
While I believe less is more when you use Lush products, less is not more when it comes to how much product you get! 😉
Colour wise, the Guardian of the Forest body scrub is just like the Guardian of the Forest bath bomb, a mixture of forest greens.
I believe that the Guardian of the Forest scent was first released by Lush in the bath bomb format back in 2015, it was a Lush Oxford Street exclusive back then and has since been made into a shower gel and body spray too.

The Guardian of the Forest body scrub contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, caster sugar, fair trade organic cocoa butter, organic almond oil, fair trade shea butter, cypress oil, lime oil and oakmoss absolute.
The scent is best described as a woody and fresh-forest-scent. I feel that the lime oil notes in this scrub is a lot more noticeable than it is in the bath bomb equivalent too. I love how earthy and outdoorsy it smells; it just smells so green!
If you’re not familiar with the, The Legend of Zelda games this won’t mean anything to you, but I’ve always imagined that the Guardian of the Forest scent is what the Korok Forest smells like.
Consistency wise the Guardian of the Forest body scrub is most like the Intergalactic body scrub, after watching some behind the scenes footage from the Lush factory I was surprised to see how it is potted up. In ways it’s very similar to a bubble bar, before a bubble bar has set. It’s not scooped in or squirted it’s simply just placed in the pot. If you flip the pot, the body scrub slides out of the pot whole!
A very small amount of the Guardian of the Forest body scrub goes a very long way, I pick out about 3 fingers worth per shower and this amount can easily scrub my whole body.

I recommend starting off by working it into warm, wet skin slowly as this seems to get the most out of it as a scrub. Once you feel like you have scrubbed enough add a little bit more water and speed up the rubbing-in to make it really lather up. It’s an excellent product for both cleansing and exfoliating your skin.
The one thing that I feel I need to point out is that less really is more when it comes down to using the Guardian of the Forest body scrub, you really don’t need a lot to get the best out of it making it incredibly cost effective.
After using the Guardian of the Forest body scrub its fresh forest fragrance remains on your skin long after using it and it leaves your skin not only much softer to the touch but also appearing brighter too. What surprised me the most was how hydrated it also left my skin.
There is no need to moisturise after using this body scrub and I find it particularly good on my legs when used just before shaving. I feel that the latest Lush body scrubs including Guardian of the Forest don’t get enough credit for how diverse they are. They really are a wonder, and no one trick pony, they clean and hydrate your skin just as well as they exfoliate.
Overall, I love the Guardian of the Forest body scrub. As scrubs go, the Guardian of the Forest body scrub is probably one of my favourites from Lush so far, I hope Lush read this and seriously consider bringing the Guardian of the Forest body scrub back as a mainline product. More people need to be given the opportunity to try it, it’s that good!
